Totara Spings Band Camp

On Monday the 12th of May all the band and Choir students went to Totara Springs band camp for Monday, Tuesday and came back Wednesday. In the band I play the flute. which is an instrument that you have to hold out the side of your mouth but blow down into it.  I’m in the beginner band and we practise separate to the senior band and the choir. On Monday we had three rehearsals each one hour and a half long then we got one hour and a half free time. We practised the warm ups Morning tide and the rest of the warm ups on that page. We practised lightly row and oh when the saints go marching in. Also we practised mickey mouse march, Geronimo and Power rock. On Tuesday the day of our concert we had three practises as well and ended up not playing Mickey mouse March. On the night of the concert nobody was allowed to go outside unless we were going to the toilet and everyone had to get their instruments tuned and play a b all together. Then suddenly when we were all ready to go the fire alarm went off so everybody had to go to the hockey field. All the parents had to get out of the hall and Mrs German stood on a table to get everyone’s attention. Then Matt the camp organiser person ran up and said false alarm somebody left there towel on the towel rail and it had started smoking so all the parents piled back into the hall and all the students went back to the place where we were tuning. Soon we marched into the hall and sat down we started the concert with the national anthem then the senior band played then the beginner band played then the choir until we were finished all our pieces. After our last part. Mr. Stanbridges band played a couple of songs for us. After the concert parents came to see their kids we had supper and went to bed. The next day we got to do the activities first you got to do either archery or slug gun shooting and the three wire. Matamata Intermediate went on the hydro slide first then we did. Everybody came off the hydro slide with bruises and bumps. After we had lunch, packed up and said thank you we hopped on the buses and left to go back to school. At school I couldn’t find my baggage it had got left at camp. So the camp had to courier it down the next day. I think Totara Springs Band Camp was great and I want to go on it again next year.

A good recount of your time at Totara Springs. Remember, names of pieces of music are proper nouns and need to have capital letters.
